This coming Saturday (8th October) we've got the huge honour of playing as the headline band at The Big Splash festival in Newport, Wales. The Big Splash 2011 is a "celebratory weekend of fire, spectacle and entertainment", set on both banks of the River Usk. Throughout the weekend there will be live music, street performers, fireworks and large-scale spectacular stunts. Our performance on the Saturday night, like most of the events over the weekend, is free. We're due to play from 9.30pm to 11pm so come on down for a great night by the river! We're playing on the Riverfront Café Terrace, which is in the middle of town. You can find it on a map here. For full details of the weekend, download the official diary and map of the Big Splash site. Further information about the Big Splash festival can be found at the following links: Official Site The Big Splash Diary Flickr We're absolutely thrilled to be playing and can't wait to get up on stage. It's gonna be an amazing night!

Tonight is a special occasion for the band, as we come together to celebrate our front-man 'Howling Slim' Tony's birthday with a packed night of music, dancing and possibly one or two ales. The music kicks off at 8.30pm for the first of our two sets, so come down early and help us celebrate. The Stag's Head is a great pub just off Kingsland Road in N1. The closest station is Haggerston on the new London Overground line. Click here for a map to the venue. We're looking forward to what's shaping up to be a quality night, and hope you can come along and join us. Looking forward to seeing you all there! With barely time to recover from a great night at Jamboree on Saturday, we're straight back on it with a gig this Thursday at The Glassblower in Piccadilly. The venue's right on the corner of Glasshouse Street and Brewer Street, just a couple of minutes walk from Piccadilly Circus tube station. We should be on stage from about 8.30pm, and entry is free. Just two days after this gig, we're going to be playing at The Stag's Head in Orsman Road. Full preview to come later in the week. Finally we'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone that came down to the Jamboree, it was a fantastic night and we all had a great time. We hope to be back there soon. After what feels like an eternity away, we're returning to the beautiful Jamboree for a gig this coming Saturday night. This will be our third time playing at this fantastic venue, and we can't wait to get back up on stage. If you've never been to Jamboree before, get yourself down this Saturday as it's a cracking place, and we're looking forward to a memorable night. Set in the Cable Street Studios in Limehouse, East London, it's been described as being "an old-fashioned Parisien den of musical résistance", "a magical place full of curios and intriguing people", and "all cosy and home-made bohemian". (Links on the Jamboree website) It's nice and easy to get to, with Limehouse station just a few minutes on the DLR from Bank. Entry for the night is only £5, or £3.50 for the early birds that can get down before 8.30pm. Doors open at 8pm. Full details of the location etc can be found on our Gigs page. If you are heading down, we'd love to see your photos from the night. Send us your favourites and we can add them to the 'Your Pics' page. For details on how to send them in, please see this previous post. Can't wait to see you all on Saturday! After a l o n g summer break, The Elasticated Waste Band return fired up and raring to go! It's been a summer of travels and adventure, injuries and weddings, and now we're back ready to blow away the cobwebs with some fine ol' dancing music. We've got a whole host of gigs lined up, starting this coming Saturday (10th September) at the beautiful Jamboree in Limehouse. This is quickly followed by performances in Piccadilly and Hoxton, leading up to our first ever festival performance in October. Full details of all these gigs and more will follow shortly. It's not all been rest and recuperation over the summer, as we've also been working hard on some new songs to spice up the set. A few great covers plus a couple of new tunes penned by members of the band have been raised lovingly and are now ready to be released into the wild. So stick next Saturday's gig in your plans, and keep an eye on the site for full details in the next couple of days. Can't wait to see you all soon... it's great to be back! Only two days to go until our gig at The Salisbury. The venue is a beautiful old pub on Green Lanes in North London, and we're really looking forward to playing there. It's nice and easy to get to, situated between Turnpike Lane tube station and Harringay Green Lanes on the London Overground. Buses that run by it are the 29, 141 and 341. We're expecting to be on stage at 9.30pm, but as it's a fine pub I'm sure we'll be there soaking up the atmosphere a lot earlier than that! If you are coming along, why not take some photos and send them in to us? We're set up a page for your pics here, so it'd be great to get some from Saturday night. See our previous post for details. Full details of this and all our other gigs are available here. See you on Saturday! We've just added a new page to the Multimedia section of the site, where we'll be putting up photos sent in to us by your lovely selves. These don't just have to be photos of the band, anything that would show the atmosphere and fun times at our gigs would also be fantastic. Have you taken any photos at any of our shows? If so, send them in to us and we'll post a selection of them on our new Your Pics page. You can send them via email to elasticatedwasteband@gmail.com, or message us on Facebook if you've posted them on there, and let us know what you're happy for us to put up.
