Come celebrate 2 years with us!! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Boutique-Promotions-London/165913270098282 FREE ENTRY We're playing a gig this Sunday (8th July) at the fabulous Wenlock Arms in North London. The event is a fundraiser going under the heading of "Send My Missus to Africa", and is to raise money for our singer Tony's wife Wendy, who will be volunteering in Africa later on this year. Wendy will be heading to Tanzania in September/October to do some voluntary work for the Forever Angels charity, who run a home for up to 50 orphaned and abandoned babies on the shores of Lake Victoria. It's a worthy cause, and a great thing that Wendy is doing. We'll be playing from about 6pm, doing two sets, so come down and help us raise the roof as well as a decent sum of money. We'll be donating generously, hope you all will too! If you can't make it on Sunday, but would like to contribute to the cause, you can do so online at Wendy's Just Giving page. We're back from our little road trip to the beautiful county of Devon, and are still just about in working order. We had an absolutely amazing time down there, playing two great shows and being given such a friendly welcome from everyone we met. Huge thanks to everyone that looked after us down there, from the great folks at the Pigs Nose Inn, to the Harbour Master at Salcombe, to Anna and Andy, and in particular to Matty for sorting it all out. Cheers! Plans are currently being put in place for the coming months, with a couple of gigs set to be announced in the next few days. In the meantime we've been sent some great photos and videos from our gig at the Pigs Nose Inn, a selection of which have now been put up on the site. Photos are in the Your Pics section here, and a video of our performance of Fishin' Blues is on the videos page here. Huge thanks to Blanka Springfield for these great pics and vids! We also posted some pics on Instagram during our time in Devon, and if you missed them they're also on our site here. We'll be posting again shortly with details of some upcoming gigs. It's gonna be a busy few weeks for the band, with two gigs and a private booking coming up before the end of May, as well as another trip to the studio to record some more of our tunes. First up on the gigs front is a show we're putting on this Wednesday (2nd May) at the New Rose in Essex Road, North London. We're going to be playing two sets, the first of which will kick off at 8pm, and it's free entry. The gig's slap bang in the middle of their Ale Festival, so it's gonna be a great night for anyone partial to a tipple of the fine drink! After the New Rose, we're heading back to the fantastic Wenlock Arms to celebrate its re-opening following the threat of closure. A very special place for us, we're absolutely delighted that we're able to play there again. We're playing there on Sunday 13th May, kicking off at 6.30pm. Details of all the shows are listed on our gigs page here. Looking forward to seeing you over the next few weeks! After celebrating Christmas at our Jamboree gig on 16th December, we'd also love you to come and see in 2012 with us at our Elasticated New Year bash on 31st December at the fantastic Filthy MacNasty's. On a night when the usual options involve a huge cost and inevitable anti-climax, what better way to escape the norm than to join us for a free entry* party in a great venue, with standard pub-priced drinks all night. As well as the live music from our band, there will also be DJs on hand to provide some cracking tunes. It's shaping up to be a great night, and we're all seriously excited about this one. Come join in with the festivities, and let's kick off 2012 with a bang! Full details of this and all our shows can be found on our Gigs page. * Email us at [email protected] with the names of the people that you want to be put on the free-entry guest list. The price for anyone not on the guest list is £10, and it's limited to 100 people, so make sure you get your name to us early. After a cracking November, we're now looking forward to following it up with a great December. To kick off Christmas in style, we would like to invite you all to join us for an evening of festive cheer, with a night guaranteed to warm the cockles and fight away the winter chills! On Friday 16th December we're heading to the beautiful Jamboree venue in Limehouse, East London. It's been one of our favourite places to play over the past year, and could think of no finer place to celebrate Christmas. Entry for the night is £3 if you get there before 8.30pm, or £5 after that. We'll be on stage from about 9pm, and will be playing all the usual classics, plus possibly one or two tunes to suit the festive occasion. This really is a night we've all been looking forward to for ages, and would love for you all to come and celebrate with us. It should be a great winter's evening! See the Gigs page for full details of this and all our other gigs. We've got a whole lot coming up next month, starting on Friday 4th with a gig at The Finsbury in Manor House, North London. We're due to play two sets, with the first kicking off at about 10pm. We've then got a private booking on the 5th, followed by our first ever radio appearance on Monday 14th. We're going to be appearing on Resonance 104.4FM at 11pm, with the show being repeated at 1pm on Sunday 20th. On Thursday 24th we're returning to the Lock Tavern in Camden for our second appearance at the 'Countrier Than Thou' night. We last played there in March, and our show featured the first (and possibly last) appearance of Trevor 'Magic Foot' Parsons on the drums, as well as the usual fiddle and vocals. We're hopeful that we'll have our full group this time! Closing off the month is a gig at The Lexington on Pentonville Road, on Saturday 26th. This will be our first appearance there, and we can't wait! All these gigs are listed on our Gigs page. It's shaping up to be a great month, and should be the best possible way to keep away those winter chills. Hope you can join us! |
